UMKC Continues Home Stretch vs. Oral Roberts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women's soccer continues its homestand vs. Oral Roberts on Sunday, with a 1 p.m. kickoff. The match with the Golden Eagles is the final home contest before conference play.
The 'Roos and Golden Eagles have squared off six previous times. The last meeting was in 2014, which ended in a 1-1 overtime draw.

Tickets for Sunday's game can be purchased through the UMKC Athletics website at UMKCKangaroos.com/Tickets or at the ticket office at Durwood Stadium on game day, with single-game tickets starting at $5 and season tickets as low as $50, or $100 for four seats.

About the 'Roos
Currently 2-6-2, UMKC enters the match looking to avenge Wednesday's late-game heart-breaker vs. Drake. D Abby Small (Kansas City, Mo.) found the net on Wednesday, extending UMKC's season-high streak of three straight games with a goal. The 'Roos have knocked in at least two goals in two of its past three matches.
Led by F Reighan Childers (Grain Valley, Mo.) and MF Kelsey Mothershead (Smithville, Mo.), UMKC has outshot its opponents 130-126 on the season. The sophomore duo have a combined 41 shots thus far.
The 'Roos have utilized both of its goalkeepers in nonconference play, as Anna Lillig (Kansas City, Mo.) and Erin Roth (Eureka, Mo.) have each seen time in goal. Lillig has made 41 saves, while Roth has posted a 2-0-0 record. Both keepers have recorded a shutout this season.
Chris Cissell is currently in his sixth year at the helm of the 'Roos program. During his tenure at UMKC, Cissell has posted a record of 55-43-15 (.561), increasing UMKC's win total in each of the last four seasons. Last year, he guided the 'Roos to a program-best 14-win season.
About the Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts enters the match with a 5-5-1, following its 1-1 tie against Kansas State on Friday. The Golden Eagles are led by MF Lexi Jones, who has four goals recorded on the season. Four other players have scored at least two goals on the year, from the help of F Chloe Basnett and MF Mariah Morgan, who lead the team with three assists each.
GK Ryleigh Bohnenstiehl has taken charge as the primary goal stopper but has shared those responsibilities with Paige Vincent as well. Between the two of them, they have 47 saves on the season.
