Women's Tennis Pulls Off Win Over Bradley, Now 4-0 at Home

(Kansas City, Mo.) - UMKC women's tennis chalked up its most impressive victory of the year on Saturday afternoon at the Kansas City Racquet Club, knocking off Bradley in a tight 4-3 match, and moving to 4-0 at home.
The 'Roos (4-5) seized the momentum from the start, taking the doubles point with 6-2 and 6-1 victories at the No. 1 and 3 positions, respectively.
Singles play was as tight as could be, with three matches going to a third and deciding set. Unfortunately for the 'Roos, two of them went Bradley's way (7-4) at the top two positions. The big one came at No. 4 though, when Mariam Kurasbediani pulled out a come-from-behind win to keep the 'Roos alive.
The clinching match was at the No. 5 position, as Raquel Argenal won a first set tiebreak and closed it out in two sets by taking the second set by a 6-4 score.
UMKC will head to Iowa next weekend for matches against Drake and Iowa State on Friday and Saturday.
