In the event, the Kangaroos finished with a 928 in the 18 team field, 39 shots back of tournament winner and host Middle Tennessee State.
"It is somewhat disappointing how we finished today, but I am very encouraged as we move into our offseason with the two rounds we shot yesterday," head coach Brianna Broderick said. "We need to keep improving in the bottom half of our line-up. The top half has had some highlighted rounds from a variety of players and, other than being more consistent throughout our entire line-up, we need the bottom half to start coming through with respectable and countable scores."
Sophomore Susan Kirschenman led the 'Roos in the three-round event, carding a 227 with rounds of 75, 76, and 76 to finish in a tie for 20th individually.
"I had a pretty consistent day today and tournament overall," Kirschenman said. "I was trying to stay relaxed and calm and not try to get too excited. I wanted to keep my swing smooth and not get too high or too low."
Sophomore Micah Radler finished with the squad's next lowest score, notching a 235 to tie for 56th, while junior Emily Isaacson ended the event one shot behind in a tie for 61st.
Taylor Fisher's three-round score of 238, meanwhile, placed her in a tie for 65th, while freshman Charter Lawson rounded out the lineup with a 249 to end the event in 87th.
"This was a Positive tourney for the team," Kirschenman said. "Our first two rounds showed how much we have improved this fall, but we also realize how much room we have to keep improving. We didn't finish this tournament like we wanted and we have a lot of work to do this winter, but we are excited to see people work hard to get better over the offseason."
"The team is starting to really gel and come together," Broderick added. "There were a lot of positives that came out of this trip for us and we will continue building upon those aspects during our off season."
The Blue & Gold will be back in action this spring, starting on Feb. 17-18 at the Jim West Challenge hosted by Texas State in Blanco, Texas, at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
