
UMKC Downs ORU For Second Time In School History

Overland Park, Kan. -- The UMKC women's tennis team (7-12) picked up its second win in school history over Oral Roberts with a 5-2 victory over Golden Eagles (2-6) on Thursday afternoon at the Overland Park Racquet Club.
The last time the Kangaroos beat the Golden Eagles was in 1992.
Sophomores Laura Bouet and Suzan Lisenby led the 'Roos as each picked up a pair of wins on the day, as Bouet downed Lina Semanova, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2, while Lisenby took down Tori Dollar 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 4 line. In doubles play, the duo teamed up to defeat Dollar and Kristin Gray, 8-1.
In the squad's other singles matches, junior Jillian Yakominich beat Ekaterina Kondrashova, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 5 line, while freshman Gabriela Pintos clinched the victory with a 6-7 (0-3), 7-6 (3-0), 6-3 victory at No. 6.
The 'Roos will be back in action again tomorrow when they host Western Illinois and South Dakota State.
