
?Roos Settle for 1-1 Tie with North Dakota State

Like UMKC (7-5-4, 5-0-1 SL), the Bison (13-2-2, 6-0-1 SL) were riding a six-game winning streak coming into tonight's contest. Also, North Dakota State had a league-high 34 goals on the year.
In the first half, the Bison had opportunities to score with six shots-on-goal. However, junior keeper Jami Finnell kept North Dakota State scoreless with five saves along with a team save by UMKC.
As for the 'Roos, they had two scoring chances, but senior keeper Kalani Bertsch saved both to keep the game scoreless going into the half.
Fast-forward to the 83rd minute, game still scoreless, freshman defender Sarah Todd assisted junior defender Meagan Malloy for her first goal of the season to put UMKC up 1-0.
A little over two minutes later, Bison sophomore forward Katie Tallas controlled a loose ball in UMKC's territory and fired a shot above Finnell's reach to tie the game.
As the second half continued, neither team was able to score as the game went into overtime. Coming in, UMKC held a 2-1-3 record in overtime games this season, while North Dakota State was 0-0-1.
In the first overtime, each team had one shot-on-goal which were saved by the goalies. As for the second overtime, neither team registered an on-goal-shot as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Despite the tie, the 'Roos still remained in the Top 3 of The Summit League standings as the Bison still manned the number one slot.
Coming up Sunday at 1:00 P.M., UMKC will close out its home schedule against South Dakota State (10-5-2, 6-0-1), who's coming off a 2-0 win over South Dakota Friday night.
