
Kangaroos Travel To Centenary For League Game On Saturday Afternoon

Kansas City, Mo. -- The Kangaroos hit the road again and are headed for a Summit League battle against Centenary. UMKC tips-off against the Ladies at noon on Sat., Jan. 24 in Shreveport, La.
UMKC is 8-10 overall and 3-4 in The Summit League following a 83-63 loss to then-no. 21 South Dakota State. The Kangaroos are led by Chazny Morris who is averaging 18.1 points and 7.1 rebounds on the year.
Centenary is currently 3-15 on the season and 1-6 in league play. Their only Summit League win this season was against IPFW on Jan. 10 (73-51). The Ladies are led by Anne Farrell, who is averaging 9.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
Morris Sitting Pretty at 26-Game Streak
Guard Chazny Morris is currently on a 26-game scoring streak where the junior has finished the game in double digits. The streak began back in the 2007-08 season where she recorded 17 points against South Dakota State on Feb. 16, 2008. Morris has carried the streak well into the 2008-09 season and has finished with double figures in every game so far this season.
Big Night in Municipal
UMKC handed league leader North Dakota State its second Summit League loss with a 68-62 upset on Saturday afternoon. Chazny Morris was almost non-existent in the first half, after landing two quick fouls but she lit things up in the second half. Morris had 19 second half points to lead the `Roos past the Bison.
Heather Davis also had a career-high night, scoring 18 total points. Davis went six-of-eight from field goal range and was six-of-seven from the three-point line.
Kangaroos Hold Their Own In League Stats
Despite having a 2-3 record in The Summit League, UMKC is doing just fine within the league on the statistic side of things. The Kangaroos lead the league in team steals with 170 in 16 games played. The UMKC defense is averaging 10.6 steals per game.
Chazny Morris is the front leader in scoring both overall and in The Summit League. Overall, Morris leads with 292 points for a 18.3 average in 16 contests. The Oakland, Calif., native is tied for fifth in steals (27) and tied second in three-point field goals made (37).
