Kansas City, Mo. - Head Coach Matt Brown announced today that Dustin Dibble has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball and continue his education at UMKC next season. The 6-4, 190-lb. guard averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists at Petoskey High School in Petoskey, Mich., last season.
“We are very pleased to have Dustin as a member of our family,” said Brown. “Not only is he an outstanding student and a delightful person, but he is everything that we look for in a basketball player.”
During his junior campaign, Dibble earned third team class B all-state and first team all-conference honors, while also being named to the all-region dream team. Additionally, the guard was the Northman's most valuable player, and he earned the team dedication award.
Before moving to Petoskey, Dibble spent his freshman and sophomore years at Charlevoix High School in Charlevoix, Mich. As a sophomore, he earned first team all-conference honors after averaging 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game. He was also named the team MVP after earning class C honorable mention all-state honors. As a freshman, Dibble averaged eight points, three rebounds and two assists, while earning the starting nod for a majority of the season.
Off the hardwood, Dibble is also a three-year letterwinner in tennis. In the classroom, he is a member of the National Honor Society, as he carries a 3.9 grade point average.
