Monica Canisales is entering her first season as a student assistant for the UMKC softball team following her four-year career as a member of the ?Roos.
Canisales wrapped up her career in 2008, posting career-highs in both batting average (.242) and fielding percentage (.990). She was charged with just three errors during the season, while leading the team in fielding percentage. Canisales was also a member of The Summit League Winter/Spring Academic all-League team.
In the career record book, Canisales is sixth overall in sacrifices with 24 in 177 games played. She also ranks seventh in career at bats with 427.
Canisales is completing her bachelor’s degree in the psychology program at UMKC.
