Kansas City Women’s Basketball officially announced the hiring of Ryan Davis as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations on Aug. 19, 2021, after Davis spent the past three seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Sheridan College.
“The culture that Coach Hoyt and her staff have established was what stood out to me, and I wanted to be a part of it,” Davis said. “Kansas City is also home to me, so being able to come back and work with a rising program made it an easy selection.”
As the Director of Operations, Davis will be responsible for managing travel, equipment and team budgeting, while assisting coaches with day-to-day responsibilities.
While at Sheridan, Davis accrued a record of 54-44, including winning records in his final two seasons at the helm. Prior to his stint with the Generals, Davis spent time as an assistant women’s coach at Casper College in 2016-17, Black Hills State in 2015-16 and Sheridan in 2014-15. He was also an assistant men’s coach at the University of Texas Permian Basin from 2011-13 and at Sheridan from 2010-11.
A native of Overland Park, Davis graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 2005 before attending the University of Kansas and earning a degree in sports management in 2010. While at KU, Davis was a manager for the Jayhawks’ men’s basketball team, winning four-straight Big XII titles and a National Championship in 2008. After his time at Kansas, he earned a master’s in sports psychology from UTPB.
Davis currently resides in Olathe, Kan with his wife Lorraine.
