The honor is the Roos first weekly Summit award this season—and their first overall since January 20, 2025.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Kansas City Women's Basketball brought home their first weekly conference honor of the 2025-26 season with Tierra Trotter being named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. For Kansas City, it's the program's first weekly honor from the Summit League since Alayna Contreras won it last season on January 20, 2025. As Summit play opens up, the Roos will search for multiple Summit Peak Performer bids by season's end, a feat that hasn't been accomplished in Kansas City since the five the Roos' held in the 2021-22 season.
Trotter is coming off her best performance as a Roo, tallying a season-best and team-high 21 points in Kansas City's close overtime battle against Missouri this past Sunday. Trotter was a constant source of offense for the Roos, breaking down the Tigers defense off the dribble and getting to the basket at will. The UTRGV transfer reached double figures in just the first half thanks to nine points in the second quarter alone which helped Trotter reach a game-high 11 points by halftime.
The graduate guard continued to engineer quality offense for the Roos in the second half, scoring 10 points, five of which came in the fourth quarter and overtime. Trotter not only had her highest single game point total as a Roo but the Pinebluff, Ark. native also tallied her fifth game of double figure scoring this season. Trotter shot the ball at an efficient 57% clip from the field, going 8-14 overall and went 40% from deep at 2-5 from three, making it the second time the grad student has recorded double digit scoring while shooting 50%-plus this year.
Trotter also recorded went 75% from the free throw line, going 3-4 while recording two assists, three rebounds and two steals in a season-high 41 minutes against the Tigers. Trotter has been a big part of the Roos Summit-leading 11.4 steals per game mark, with seven multi-steal outings this season including this latest one in Columbia. The graduate point guard boosted her season averages up to 10.7 points per game (3rd on team), 3.3 assists per game (1st on team) and 1.7 steals (2nd on team) per game in just under 24 minutes per contest.
Trotter and the Roos look to open up Summit League play on a high note as Kansas City hosts Omaha at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
