KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Women's Tennis (4-8, 1-1 Summit) had to work for its first league victory of the year, but pulled out a narrow win over St. Thomas (6-6, 0-2 Summit) today, 4-3. The Roos earned the point in doubles thanks to an easy win by Joana Miralles Cardona and Maria Bylina at the No. 2 position, and then Eva Kresovic and Anastassiya Timofeyeva grabbed a win at No. 3 via retirement. KC picked up singles points at No. 2 and 6, but the Tommies came back and tied things up with points at No. 3, 4 and 5. The match came down to Cardona, who forced a third set with a second set tiebreaker win. In the third set, Cardona jumped out and earned a 6-3 win, taking the match for Kansas City.
