Roos Hit the West Coast for Meeting with Gauchos

Kansas City will take on UC Santa Barbara for the first time in program history tomorrow
Kansas City Notes
- Following a season-long four-game home stand that saw the Roos go 2-1-1, Kansas City Men's Soccer travels out to Santa Barbara for a meeting with the Gauchos on Saturday.
- Now 540 minutes into the season, the first six games have been split into two different 270-minute stories. The first 270 minutes of the year saw KC score zero goals and start with an 0-2-1 record. In the past three games, the Roos have scored seven goals and posted a 2-0-1 record.
- The Roos have scored seven goals on the year so far, coming from six different players. Each of KC's six goal scorers entered the year with zero goals to their name in the Roo blue and gold.Â
- Julien Le Bourdoulous has impressed in his first season as a Roo, notching four assists in his first six games. That mark stands alone atop the Summit League and ranks 10th in the nation.
- Kansas City is coming off a 2-1 win over Creighton, a team which qualified to the 2022 Men's College Cup. The win was KC's first over the Bluejays since 2008, snapping a five-game losing streak.
- Sitting at 2-2-2, the Roos' .500 winning percentage is the program's best start through six games since going 2-1-3 to begin the 2017 season.
- Robin Balters made his first start in goal as a Roo against Creighton, earning the win. Stefano Camerlengo played the first five matches.
UCSB NotesÂ
- The Gauchos are out to a 3-3 start to begin the 2023 season and are coming off a 3-0 loss at the hands of Grand Canyon on Tuesday.
- UCSB has been involved in many high-scoring affairs, with all six of their games seeing at least three combined goals scored, and three games having six-plus goals.
- Three Gauchos have scored multiple goals on the season: Lucas Gonzalez, Nemo Phillipp and Mikkel Goeling. Beyond those three, seven other player have found the net once.
- UC Santa Barbara ranks near the top of the nation in its ability to earn corner kicks, averaging 7.0 per game. That mark is 15th in the NCAA.
