Roos Inspiring Success & Excellence
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin has announced a new community of excellence for Kansas City Athletics' Head Coaches—Roos Inspiring Success & Excellence (R.I.S.E. ALLIANCE). The program designed for KC Athletics' head coaches will aid in knowledge-sharing, instructing, and providing a meaningful forum for open dialogue and ideas under the guise of comprehensive excellence.
"Being challenged in a precarious period with epidemiological uncertainty, head coaches are being challenged with the continued elevation of their programs. How can coaches 'compete against the unknown' and control the intricacies of academic success, player behavior, team efficiency, and sustaining team culture?" commented Dr. Martin. "In a season where student-athlete welfare is unquestionably paramount, it is critically important to support our coaches who are on the front lines of ensuring the success of our student-athletes."
During a period of reflection and discovery, the RISE ALLIANCE created community of excellence designed to be a support network for coaches who share a common goal and competition, self-improvement and leadership. The RISE ALLIANCE creates opportunities for learning, collaboration, innovation, building capability, sharing knowledge and creating a safe environment where coaches are free to ask questions and pilot new ideas and concepts. The group synergy will inevitably assist in validating ideas and accelerating growth.
"Fostering an environment of elevated creative and strategic management is vital in the growth of our department and in its place in the greater university community," said head men's golf coach J.W. VanDenBorn. "Our continued growth as a staff is essential to our department maximizing the delivery of the student-athlete experience in Kansas City. The RISE ALLIANCE will create and cultivate enhanced collaboration and communication across the department and strengthen the relationships that will be essential to dynamic growth and success at the Division I level. I am excited to assist in leading this endeavor."
The RISE ALLIANCE will promote cross-coach connections to eradicate barriers and foster better appreciation for how others work. Coaches can freely exchange ideas, share their knowledge, initiate activities, and lead discussions. Below are the initial topics that will be covered during the RISE ALLIANCE sessions.
