Women's Tennis Drops Match to Omaha

Sharma Picks up Point in Three Sets
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Women's Tennis took on Omaha at Woodcrest on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-1.Â
"When you have girls out of practice for injuries, this happens," Head Coach Kendell Hale said. "Hopefully we can get a fully healed team in the near future."
Riddhi Sharma moved to 2-0 this season when playing at the three singles spot, earning the Roos' lone point in the match. She defeated the Maverick's Natalie Lorentz, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.Â
Sharma and doubles partner Thanushree Vale moved to 2-1 when playing together this season, picking up a 6-1 victory in two doubles.
Vale and Grace Ball each pushed their singles matches to three sets, with Vale falling by a break in a full third set and Ball falling in a super tiebreaker third set, 10-8.
Reigning WAC player of the week Yana Grechkina forced extra play in both of her singles sets, falling in a 7-5, 7-5 decision.Â
The Roos have the week off before traveling to Wichita State on Feb. 27 at 4 PM.
