
UMKC Readies for Second WAC Cluster in Seattle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UMKC women's tennis (10-9, 2-1) will look for a pair of WAC wins this weekend when they head to Seattle, Wash., to take on Grand Canyon (6-12, 1-2) on Apr. 7 at 10 a.m. CT and New Mexico State (7-11, 2-0) on Apr. 8 at 12 p.m. CT

The Roos return to action this week after a weekend off when they head to Seattle, Wash., on Apr. 7-8 for the final WAC cluster of the season.
Last time out, the Roos finished 2-1 in the opening WAC cluster in Edinburg, Texas, falling to UTRGV by a narrow 4-3 margin, before knocking-off Seattle U and Chicago State.
For her 3-0 singles effort over the weekend, Aliona Ladutska garnered her fourth WAC Singles Player of the Week honors of the season.
Grand Canyon enters the weekend with a 6-12 record overall and a 1-2 mark in conference play after a win over Chicago State. The Lopes have also picked up wins over several California schools, including San Diego State, UC Irvine and UC Riverside, as well as Detroit and Southern Utah.
New Mexico State, meanwhile, sits at 7-11 overall and 2-0 in the WAC with wins over Chicago State and Grand Canyon. The Lopes other lone Division I win came over Weber State.
Up Next: The Blue & Gold will be back in action again on Apr. 20 when they head to St. Louis, Mo., to take on Saint Louis at 12:15 p.m. CT.
