Roos Come From Behind, Take Out Bearcats Wednesday

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC women's tennis squad dropped the doubles point, but came roaring back in singles play, taking five of the six in a 5-2 victory over Northwest Missouri State Wednesday afternoon.
The Kangaroos (4-8) won at No. 3 doubles, but the Bearcats took wins at one and two by 6-3 scores. That's all it took for the Roos to awaken though, as they took straight set wins from Dimitra Stavrianakou, Marina Albert and Raquel Argenal at the Nos. 1, 4 and 5 positions, respectively.
With a 3-1 lead, UMKC needed only one of the final three matches still going, to end up in the Roos favor. All three went to a third set, but both Mariam Kurasbediani and Melinda Johnson pulled out the final set to help UMKC win the match comfortably.
UMKC will be back in action at home on Saturday against Arkansas at 5 p.m.
