Shorthanded Roos Drop Contests In Nebraska to Huskers, Cowgirls

(Lincoln, Neb.) - UMKC had to play without three key performers this weekend in Lincoln, Neb., and fell to some stiff competition by 7-0 margins to Nebraska and No. 71 Wyoming.
The Roos (2-3) played without the services of Dimitra Stavrianakou, Raquel Argenal and Aliona Ladutska. UMKC still managed to pick up a doubles victory at No. 1 in Friday's match against the Huskers (5-0), taking a 7-5 score, by partners Melinda Johnson and Marina Albert.
UMKC was not able to repeat that performance agains tha nationally ranked Cowgirls of Wyoming (4-2).
The Roos had to give up a point at No. 6 in each dual as only five players were available, as well as No. 3 doubles.
UMKC will hit the road again next weekend for matches in Iowa City against both Iowa and Illinois State.
