Kangaroo Women Take Out Cougars, 4-1

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The Kansas City women's tennis squad took out Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 4-1 on Friday in their home opener at Woodside Country Club. The 'Roos took all three doubles matches to claim the first point, followed by three of the first four singles matches.
UMKC (2-2) seniors Laura Bouet and Suzan Lisenby, as well as freshman Dimitra Stavrianakou each won both their singles and doubles matches. The dual was played on three courts, so Bouet finished up first in singles play to make it 2-0 at the No. 1 position. Stavrianakou followed with a win at No. 3, coming back from a set down to record the victory and make it 3-0. The Cougars (2-2) got a win at No. 2, but Lisenby tallied a come-from-behind win at No. 4 to seal the victory.
Kansas City will face Northern Iowa on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Carriage Club.
