
Kangaroos Drop Narrow 4-3 Decision to Bearcats

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The UMKC women were just points away from coming away with a victory on Tuesday at the Plaza Tennis Center, but the final match went the way of Southwest Baptist, ending the dual with a 4-3 margin.
Southwest Baptist (16-1), ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II, grabbed the doubles point thanks to wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The 'Roos (11-10) came back strong in singles though, getting wins at the 4, 5, and 6 positions to tie it at 3-3.
Maddie Schulte came from two sets down at No. 4 to tie the match, but SBU's Adrienn Kovacs edged UMKC's Amelie Amsallem in the third set at No. 3 to take the match for SBU.
UMKC will celebrate senior day on Friday when it takes on Nebraska-Omaha at 9:00 a.m. at the Plaza Tennis Center. Seniors Jillian Yakominich and Jessica Ball will be honored between singles and doubles action.
