Brown was the only unanimous pick for the Academic All-League Team
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Kansas City Men's Basketball's Jamar Brown was named to the 2024-25 Academic All-Summit League Team, as was announced by the league today. Brown becomes the first Kansas City player in program history named to the Summit League's Academic All-League Team, since the award's inception in 2012-13.
Brown, a Second Team All-Summit honoree with a 3.73 GPA in Criminal Justice, was the only unanimous pick to the academic team and joins South Dakota's Isaac Bruns as the only players selected to both the all-league and academic all-league lists. He was the Roos' leader in scoring, rebounding and steals, ranking top-10 in the Summit in all three. Adding to his accolades, Brown was named the Summit League Player of the Week and an Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week in mid-February after averaging 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of games against North Dakota State and North Dakota.
This is not the first academic honor of the season for Brown, who also earned a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection. He is still in the running for the CSC Academic All-American team, which will be announced on Apr. 15.
