Sydney Nichols Named to Academic All-League Team

SIOUX FALLS - The Summit League announced its Softball Academic All-League team this afternoon, as was announced today, with Kansas City's Sydney Nichols earning a spot on the team. This comes on the tail of her second-straight Honorable Mention All-League placement, also earning a spot on the Summit's All-Tournament team.

This season, Nichols held down the middle infield for the Roos, posting a .954 fielding percentage on 173 opportunities from the shortstop position. She recorded 78 putouts and 87 assists in the field, batting for 31 hits, including five multi-hit games.

In addition to her work on the field, Nichols has logged a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing her Bachelor's of Liberal Arts. This is not the first time the she has been recognized for her academic prowess, also earning Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete honors in 2022.
