SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Jamar Brown has been named the Summit League TicketSmarter Men's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-25, the league announced this afternoon. It is Brown's first weekly honor of his career, and the first by a Kansas City player this season.
Brown led Kansas City to a pair of wins in league play this past week, bringing the Roos' season-long winning streak to four games. He played all 40 minutes in both games, averaging 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals on the week. He led the team in scoring in both games, dropping 27 points against South Dakota and 22 against Omaha. He went 15-of-31 from the field, averaging 3.0 threes per game, and was 13-of-14 from the charity stripe, good for a 92.8% rate.Â
He has now scored in double digits in 14-straight games and has six 20-point games on the year, four of which have come in Kansas City's past seven games. Brown ranks top-10 in the Summit in double-doubles, field goal percentage, points per game, offensive rebounds per game, total rebounds per game and threes per game.
The Roos close out the regular season on the road this week, beginning with a game at Denver on Thursday.
