Single game and season ticketing options are now available for the Roos' 2022-23 season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Basketball and first-year Head Coach Dionnah Jackson-Durrett have officially announced the Roos' schedule for the 2022-23 season, highlighted by 14 home games and a matchup in Manhattan with Kansas State. Single game and season tickets can be purchased now.
"We are excited to take on our non-conference schedule," Jackson-Durrett said. "It will help to prepare us for a tough Summit League challenge."
KC will tune up for the season with an exhibition game in the Swinney Center, taking on Pitt State on Oct. 30.Â
The Roos will then kick off the season with four-straight home games, beginning with a matchup against Westminster on Nov. 7. That game will be a part of a doubleheader matchup with the Roos' men's basketball team, with official tip-off times to be announced.
On Nov. 11, Kansas City will play host to Tennessee State. The Roos took on the Tigers in Nashville last season, coming away with a four-point win.
UTEP comes to town on Nov. 13 for the first meeting between the two squads since 1995. The Roos currently hold a 2-1 all-time advantage over the Miners.
The Roos will close their season-opening home stand with a matchup against Utah Tech on Nov. 18. KC took a 14-point victory over the Trailblazers in St. George last season.
Kansas City will then take to the road for a series of six-straight games, beginning on Nov. 22 with a rematch of last year's thriller against Santa Clara. The Roos defeated the Broncos last season to cap their 10-game non-conference winning streak.
On Nov. 26, the Roos will take on Arkansas State for the first time since 1997. The Roos and Red Wolves have met nine times in the past, with ASU holding a 5-4 advantage.
Kansas City will travel to Bradley on Nov. 29 before opening up December with a trip to Grand Canyon on Dec. 3.Â
On Dec. 7, the Roos will make the short trip to Manhattan for a meeting with Kansas State. The Wildcats are coming off an appearance in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament and return leading scorer and All-American Ayoka Lee.
Kansas City closes off its road trip against Wyoming on Dec. 11, seeking a repeat of last season's 53-44 win over the Cowgirls in the Swinney Center.
The Roos finish their non-conference schedule with a home game against Bellevue on Dec. 15.
Summit League play will assume the same structure as the 2021-22 season, as the Roos will pair with Oral Roberts as travel partners. Besides the first week, the league will play a Thursday/Saturday schedule, with teams switching between road and home games each week.
The Roos open up league play on the road, traveling to reigning conference tournament champion South Dakota on Dec. 19 and reigning regular season champ South Dakota State on Dec. 21.
KC will then play three-straight games at home, taking on Denver on Dec. 29, Omaha on Dec. 31 and Oral Roberts on Jan. 7.
Kansas City travels to St. Thomas for a meeting with the Tommies on Jan. 12, then takes the trip to Western Illinois on Jan. 14.
The Roos will close their first round of league play in the Swinney Center, hosting North Dakota on Jan. 19 and North Dakota State on Jan. 21.
The second round of league play will begin on the road, traveling to Omaha and Denver on Jan. 26 and 28, before opening February with a game at Oral Roberts on the 4th.
Western Illinois and St. Thomas come to town on Feb. 9 and 11, followed by trips to North Dakota State and North Dakota on Feb. 16 and 18.
The Roos will close regular season play at the end of February, hosting South Dakota State on Feb. 23 before a Senior Day matchup with South Dakota on Feb. 25.
Finally, the Kansas City will seek a conference championship in Sioux Falls, S.D. from March 5-8.
