Roos Drop Tight Contest to Air Force Sunday, 4-3

(Kansas City, Mo.) - UMKC women's tennis took a lead going into singles action, but Air Force took the deciding matches in a 4-3 decision on Sunday at the KC Raquet Club.
The Roos (3-6) came out firing, taking the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, both by 6-4 scores. AFA won the remaining doubles match in a tiebreak.
In singles play, UMKC took a straight set win at No. 4 by Marina Albert, but AFA (4-4) took straight set wins at No. 2 and No. 6 to tie the dual at 2-2.
The remaining three matches all went to a deciding third set. Dimitra Stavrianakou took the No. 1 match in a tiebreak, but the Falcons came out on top in the No. 3 and No. 5 positions to secure the victory.
The Roos will be back in action at home next Sunday for a match against the Oklahoma Sooners.
