About the Roos
UMKC (0-1) started off the season with a tough battle against Tulsa, with the Roos coming up short, 80-70. Three Roos reached double figures in the loss, with Kiana Law (Pittsburgh, Pa.) notching a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds), Kristen Moore (Chicago, Ill.) putting up 16 points, and Lyndsay Leikem (Tucson, Ariz.) adding 13 off the bench. UMKC returns 11 letterwinners and four starters from last season, including 2016 Media All-WAC Preseason First-Team honoree Aries Washington (Kansas City, Mo.). Washington averaged 11.2 points per game a season ago, and with the return of Law and Samantha Waldron (Omaha, Neb.), the Roos return the bulk of their scoring load.
