
Track and Field Schedule Set for 2013-'14 Season

(Kansas City, Mo.) - The Kansas City track and field program recently announced its schedule for the 2013-'14 season.
The 'Roos will begin the campaign with a series of competitions in the Sunflower State, kicking off the year at the Bob Timmons Challenge hosted by Kansas on Dec. 7, and returning to Lawrence, Kan., for the Bill Easton Classic on Jan. 10. Those meets bookend the Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon in Manhattan, Kan., slated for Dec. 13.
UMKC will make a pair of trips to Lincoln, Neb., for the Holiday Inn Invitational and the Adidas Invitational, Jan. 17-18 and Feb. 7, respectively. The 'Roos will also make a third trip to Lawrence, Kan., for the Jayhawk Classic on Jan. 24.
Kansas City will close out the regular season at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Feb. 11-12. The indoor season will conclude with the WAC Championship in Moscow, Idaho, Feb. 26-28, and the NCAA Indoor Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., scheduled for March 14-15.
Outdoor season will begin with the Tulsa (Okla.) Duels slated for March 21-22, followed by a March 28-29 appointment in West Lafayette, Ind., for the Mike Poehlein Invitational hosted by Purdue.
During the month of April, UMKC will participate in the Emporia Relays (April 5) and the Missouri Relays (April 11-12), before heading west for the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on April 17-19.
The 'Roos will compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, April 23-26, before closing out the regular season with the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kan., on May 3.
